Well known Sydney beach – south of Bondi Beach, is another family friendly beach that offers both public transport and street parking which is metered on Bronte Rd but free off-street.

Bronte Beach is managed by Waverly Council who provides a daily full-time life guard service – Bronte Surf Lifesaving Club - excluding Australia’s winter months – June, July & August.

Well planned beach which really does have something for everyone – from multiple places to sit and relax, enjoy a picnic with family or friends – try your hand at the surf, or just watch the “Nippers” (Junior Surf Lifesavers), being put through their paces (perhaps enrol your children), do laps in the 30 metre ocean pool, or take “fido” for a walk, (on the lead) along the Bondi to Bronte Coast Walk – there is also Bronte Park and a childrens playground – so lots of choices so a return visit may be just the thing.

With Bronte Beach having Bronte Rd as its main drag – you’ll won’t go short for a place to grab a meal – cafés and restaurants galore – perfect setting to forget your troubles and enjoy the atmosphere – it’s really hard to not put a smile on your face when surrounded by the enjoyment of others and the beach is the perfect spot to let it all hang loose.

The eastern Sydney suburb of Bronte, which also includes the beach, was named after Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson who was titled by the King of Sicily as the Duke of Bronte and settlement occurred in the 1830’s in conjunction with Land Grants being offered. Early population was limited and remain so until the 1880’s and continued to climb till the early 1900’s with current population for this suburb being approximately 6,500.
